TORONTO, ON – Toronto Community Housing (TCHC) is pleased to announce that it has surpassed its 2022 United Way Greater Toronto fundraising goal of $55,000, raising more than $90,000.

As part of the City of Toronto's annual United Way Employee Campaign, TCHC employees planned fun and innovative events to raise funds and awareness all inspired by a collective spirit of community and a passion to help those in need.

The fundraising milestone was achieved through the collaboration of more than 150 volunteers and strong level of engagement and generosity from TCHC employees. TCHC's labour partners CUPE Local 416, CUPE Local 79, OPSEU Local 529 and the Carpenters union Local 27 made generous contributions to the campaign, as well, along with other corporate donors who provided items for a very popular silent auction.

The campaign earned multiple awards from the City of Toronto's United Way Committee in the process. Thanks to the hard work and dedication of employees, TCHC was recognized with three awards:

  • Excellence in Innovation Award to TCHC
  • Ambassador of the Year Award to Danielle Doody
  • GenNext Philanthropy Award to Danielle Doody

TCHC's contributions are a part of the City's larger campaign that raised over $2.5 million dollars in support of United Way Greater Toronto. This year is the 21st consecutive year that City employees have donated over $1 million to United Way Greater Toronto in support of the local community.
