TCHC staff raise over $138,000 for United Way

Toronto Community Housing has surpassed its 2023 fundraising goal for the City of Toronto’s annual campaign.

Toronto Community Housing (TCHC) is pleased to announce that it has surpassed its 2023 United Way Greater Toronto fundraising goal, raising a total of $138,641.

Each year, the City of Toronto’s annual United Way Employee Campaign brings together City agencies and organizations with the shared goal of raising funds to benefit and support our community. For 2023, TCHC set a fundraising goal of $90,000 to match last year’s record-breaking amount. The final total exceeds this goal by 54 per cent, marking another record-breaking year thanks to the efforts of TCHC employees.

Over 200 staff volunteers lent their time and energy to plan, host, and participate in fundraising events—from online auctions and BBQs to city-wide initiatives like the CN Tower “Climb Up” event and the City of Toronto Civic Run. Through their leadership and the generosity of the whole TCHC employee community, staff demonstrated their commitment to positively impact the communities in which we work and live.

TCHC’s labour partners CUPE Local 416, CUPE Local 79, OPSEU Local 529 and the Carpenter’s Union Local 27 once again made generous contributions to the campaign, along with other corporate donors, resulting in this new fundraising milestone.

TCHC’s employee-led United Way Committee also received recognition from the City of Toronto as Ambassadors of the Year, for their work organizing the campaign.

On top of these campaign milestones, TCHC was also recognized as one of United Way Greater Toronto’s Local Leaders.

TCHC's contributions are a part of the City's larger United Way Employee Campaign, for which the City achieved remarkable success, surpassing their goals and earning a place on the United Way Greater Toronto’s list of Local Leaders as well. You can join the City’s celebration for this year’s campaign on Wednesday, March 27, 2024 from 3:00 to 4:30 p.m. at Metro Hall Rotunda.
